In many cases woodworm can be identified and treated before any significant damage occurs, so the most common form of treatment is by spray or paste application of a deep penetrating insecticide.
However, in cases where the infestation has remained undetected for some time, the structural integrity of the timber may become compromised. In this situation the affected timber would be cut out and replaced or strengthened using resin repair techniques.
